Sustainability in Hartola Golf
People, locality and of course environment are our main concerns when it comes to planning future actions sustainably.
At Hartola Golf we see sustainability as a future-normal and our goal is to create it to an economical advantage for us.
People
We care about our staff as well as our customers and their well-being. Also, our local surroundings are important for us, including the people living nearby including the local inhabitants as well as the leisure residents . Our goal is to make our close environment a pleasant place to live for people.
We educate our staff, and our customers as well, when it comes to sustainable actions around and at the golf course.
This is what we also expect from our partners in every way.
We offer an easy step into golf with our free starting courses. In addition we work together with local schools in the region and offer them a possibility for teachers to bring students to experience golf.
Locality
Beside people around us, we also want to support the local culture and everyday living in the region.
Breathing and healthy local environment is more than important for us. We support our local community with our purchases and develop our business co-operating with other local businesses and entrepreneurs.
One of the most important and most meaningful actions with our locals is the Tainionvirta Business Project with 9 other local businesses. The goal together is highlight the local travel possibilities domestically, but also internationally thru areal co-work with Visit Lahti.
Together, within the project, we want to show our local travel selection and grow awareness about the sustainable travel in the region.
Environment
We take part in many actions and programs when it comes to environment. We have our Good Travel Seal sertificate and heading for Sustainable Travel Finland pledge which both emphasizes our interest for sustainable development and planning our actions the future in mind.
Latest actions are the brand new solar panel system, installed during summer 2025, producing zero commission energy for our own use, and without any extra transfer.
Last year we also had our first three robot lawnmowers and now (2026) we’re having 4 more, which means we are able to maintain all of our fairways at the golf course with almost zero commissions.
Hartola Golf participates environmental actions and climate work in many ways.
